How many players, and how co-op works

Up to six people. Japanese Ramen Simulator is online co-op in a room the host runs. I use the Steam line “for up to six players,” not the “10 players, 6 recommended” line in a gamebiz article. There is no dedicated server in the categories or the patch notes.

What the host actually controls

  • World Settings, including traffic and thief spawns, are the host’s. The v0.1.57 note says so.
  • The host can kick. A kicked player cannot rejoin that room. They can join again if the host makes a new one.
  • My Designs reload is host-only.
  • Voice is spatial. Distance and walls change what you hear. The same patch updated noise suppression.

A player guide, not an official doc, puts the world save under %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\RealRamenSimulator\Saved\SaveGames\. It says the menu holds up to three worlds, and friends cannot load the world while the host’s PC is off. I have not confirmed the folder on a machine of my own, so treat the path as community documentation.

There is no dedicated-server box

Search results include articles titled as if you could host a dedicated server. The ones I read describe a normal peer room and an invite, then never show a server binary. Steam’s category list has online co-op and does not have a dedicated-server feature. Cross-play is impossible while the only build is Windows.

Discussions include failed invites and desync after a patch. I do not have a click-by-click of the invite button, because that UI was not in the notes. Players also wrote that they expected a public lobby browser and did not find one. I will not draw the button until I can cite it.

Questions

Is it 6 players or 10?

Steam and wilddog.jp say six. gamebiz wrote 10, with 6 recommended. This site follows Steam.

Can I rent a dedicated server?

Nothing in the store categories or the patch notes offers one.

Does voice chat work through walls?

The store says spatial voice, and that walls and distance change how it sounds.
